Medical Director, General Surgery

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee designated components of medical policies and programs

• Conduct medical evaluations

• Collaborate with provider communities within assigned regions

• Record case assessments electronically

⛳️ Requirements

• Medical Doctor (M.D. or D.O.) with a valid and unrestricted medical license in a state or territory of the United States

• Maintain Board Certification from a specialty board recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties, the National Board of Physicians and Surgeons, or the Advisory Board of Osteopathic Specialists

• Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience

• Strong analytical and communication abilities

• Skills in strategic thinking

• Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and Lotus Notes, for electronic documentation of case evaluations

• Preferred: 3 years of experience in Managed Care

• Preferred: Current board certification through ABMS or AOA in General Surgery
