This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Act as Leap's physician advocate for provider engagement.
β’ Facilitate peer-to-peer discussions with prescribing providers to enhance coordinated, timely care and encourage member involvement.
β’ Manage the clinical aspects of the provider escalation process.
β’ Offer immediate physician support to address safety and clinical policy concerns and re-engage patients who were closed due to provider objections.
β’ Establish credibility with external prescribers through an understanding of Leap's programs and clinical stances.
β’ Provide physician-level approval on clinical protocols and drug list determinations.
β’ Lead the Clinical Governance Committee and oversee P&T-style decision-making processes.
β’ Shape clinical strategy for the Specialty Drug List and Preferred Drug List initiatives.
β’ Develop and sustain relationships with medical societies, clinical leaders, physician groups, patient advocacy groups, and relevant healthcare entities.
β’ Represent Leap's clinical stance to manufacturers, specialty pharmacies, infusion centers, and health plan partners.
β’ Serve as Leap's certified clinical representative in discussions with manufacturers and health plan collaborations.
β’ Support the expansion into new specialty and therapeutic domains as a recognized clinical expert.
β’ Collaborate with Clinical Strategy & Affairs to convert clinical insights into operational policies.
β’ Establish the clinical benchmarks for protocol and drug list approvals.
β’ Work together with Clinical Operations, Client Success, Sales, Marketing, and Manufacturer Relations on provider workflows and program development.
β’ Provide counsel to executive leadership on clinical trends, stakeholder priorities, and opportunities within the provider community.
β’ Report directly to the Senior Director of Clinical Strategy & Affairs.
β’ MD or DO with a valid, unrestricted U.S. medical license.
β’ Completed residency training.
β’ At least 5 years of experience in clinical practice.
β’ Ability to operate in a non-patient-facing, cross-functional capacity.
β’ Comfortable working independently while contributing to the development of a growing function.
β’ Strong communication skills.
β’ Proven track record of leading credible physician-to-physician (peer-to-peer) discussions with prescribers.
β’ Experience in owning or contributing to clinical protocols, formulary/drug list, or P&T-style decisions.
β’ Comfortable representing a clinical viewpoint to external stakeholders, including manufacturers, specialty pharmacies, or health plans.
β’ Board certification is preferred.
β’ Experience with specialty drugs, biosimilars, or infusion-administered therapies is preferred.
β’ Previous experience in managed care, utilization management, or medical necessity is preferred.
β’ Prior experience in health plans, PBMs, or facing manufacturers is preferred.
β’ Experience in establishing a clinical function or voice from inception is preferred.
β’ Legally authorized to work in the United States.
β’ Must not require visa sponsorship to work in the United States.
