This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the medical components of the autoimmune initiative and formulate and implement the clinical development and evidence strategy.
• Offer insights related to disease areas, healthcare professionals, and patients to R&D, Product, Commercial, and Market Access teams.
• Design and supervise clinical validation, clinical utility, real-world evidence, and early clinical experience initiatives.
• Create and evaluate protocols, investigator materials, clinical study documents, regulatory submissions, publications, and presentations.
• Analyze results and propose subsequent actions to program teams.
• Establish relationships with KOLs and investigators, lead advisory activities, and foster scientific collaborations and investigator-led research.
• Collaborate with Biopharma Business Development to incorporate Adaptive assays into drug development initiatives.
• Keep abreast of the changing landscape of autoimmune diseases to assess unmet needs and guide product strategy.
• Cultivate internal expertise in autoimmune conditions and represent Adaptive at scientific conferences and with external stakeholders.
• Outline medical resource plans and recruit, manage, and develop the team as the program expands.
• Oversee assigned budgets, vendors, timelines, and compliance obligations.
• Direct clinical strategy throughout the product lifecycle, from early discovery to commercialization.
• Execute any other duties as assigned.
• MD or DO degree from a recognized institution.
• Medical license in good standing (preferred) or documented prior licensure in good standing.
• A minimum of 8 years of professional experience.
• At least 4 years of post-training clinical, translational, or clinical research experience in autoimmune or immune-mediated diseases.
• A minimum of 4 years of industry experience in clinical development, medical affairs, diagnostics, biotechnology, or biopharma, including work with molecular diagnostics, biomarkers, or precision medicine products.
• Board certification or eligibility in a specialty that addresses autoimmune diseases.
• Experience in developing and implementing clinical evidence plans and prospective studies, including protocols, data analysis, study documents, and scientific publications or presentations.
• Familiarity with diagnostic clinical performance and clinical utility study design, biostatistics, GCP, human subject protections, and relevant FDA, CLIA/CAP, privacy, and quality standards.
• Proven ability to collaborate across R&D, Regulatory, Quality, Biostatistics, Product, Commercial, Market Access, and Business Development.
• Experience in cultivating KOL and investigator relationships and leading advisory boards or scientific collaborations.
• Excellent scientific writing and presentation abilities.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.
