This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +4 more states.
• Direct Medline's sales initiatives within intricate or major accounts of regional, national, or strategic importance.
• Collaborate with field sales teams using a consultative methodology to meet customer requirements.
• Determine optimal product combinations, identify customer cost-saving opportunities, assess implementation necessities, oversee inventory availability, and resolve issues.
• Sustain current business and expand market share through defined sales plans, strategies, and objectives.
• Implement operations, ensure profitability, maintain existing sales volume, and drive sales growth.
• Formulate and execute account strategies aimed at long-term profitable expansion.
• Oversee internal forecasting processes and develop business cases for customer feasibility.
• Identify, assess, strategize, and advocate for cost-reduction initiatives.
• Collect and disseminate intelligence regarding products, customers, competitors, consumer perceptions, opportunities, pricing, promotions, and products.
• Establish and nurture consultative relationships with key decision-makers in strategic accounts.
• Promote Medline's capabilities to potential prime vendor accounts and manage current prime vendor accounts.
• Assist Medline Field Sales teams, Specialists, and Product Divisions by providing market and customer insights.
• Position products, programs, and promotions effectively to enhance account sales.
• Evaluate competitive pricing to optimize sales and profitability.
• Monitor sales performance and report outcomes to management.
• Initiate new contracts and manage contracts that are threatened or at risk.
• Develop and sustain existing sales programs.
• Collaborate with Field Sales and internal teams on sales initiatives, projects, product conversions, and implementations.
• Lead account projects and oversee the operations of the Strategic Accounts sales support team.
• Communicate effectively with healthcare accounts, product divisions, sales teams, and corporate clients.
• Create sales presentations and complete RFPs for new and existing product contract opportunities.
• Manage informal RFPs and processes related to deal retention.
• Track budget progress and modify plans and strategies to meet sales objectives.
• Oversee account program costs, including advertising, rebates, buybacks, and slotting allowances.
• Review and distribute monthly and specialized reports on contracts, programs, and focus areas.
• Supervise daily activities and outcomes of a team of employees.
• May provide training and development for staff, estimate staffing needs, assign tasks, and manage deadlines.
• Generally requires a Bachelor’s degree in a business or clinical-related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of direct sales and/or account management experience, including a similar role in the healthcare sector.
• Capability to engage with and present to senior management or C-suite executives to influence company or client decisions.
• Understanding of customer and market dynamics and their requirements.
• Skill in identifying, connecting with, building consensus, and closing new business opportunities.
• Proficiency in negotiating contracts and finalizing deals.
• Experience in assessing and initiating independent actions while taking charge of situations, teams, or projects.
• Ability to diagnose, isolate, and resolve complex issues while implementing effective resolution strategies.
• Experience applying financial, accounting, and business problem-solving skills to intricate business challenges.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and facilitating discussions to identify and implement solutions for complex issues.
• Effective time management skills, including prioritizing, organizing, tracking details, and meeting deadlines across multiple projects.
• Familiarity with and use of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
• Proficient in CRM software and the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Willingness to travel up to 80% of the time for business purposes, including overnight, in-state, and out-of-state travel.
• Ability to work in office environments and medical facilities.
