This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee, provide medical guidance, and support for WellSky’s clinical management in acute, emergency department, and post-acute care solutions and programs.
• Offer expertise and leadership in managing medical care and coordinating activities for acute and post-acute care services.
• Spearhead enhancements of post-acute clinical programs by directing strategy, design, and implementation efforts.
• Conduct timely expert medical reviews for acute (ED) and post-acute care services (SNF, IRF, LTACH, HH).
• Deliver clinical opinions concerning medical services undergoing review, including post-decision evaluations.
• Be accessible for escalations from nursing teams.
• Document findings, actions, and outcomes from clinical reviews in accordance with policy, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
• Provide guidance on the clinical operational components of ED, acute, and post-acute care programs.
• Collaborate with acute ED providers to facilitate and support care transitions.
• Identify and cultivate innovative opportunities to enhance effectiveness and quality.
• Create educational and training materials and address any issues that arise.
• Participate in client Joint Oversight Committees (JOCs) or partner/stakeholder meetings as necessary.
• Undertake other assigned job duties as needed.
• Doctoral degree in a relevant medical discipline.
• Minimum of 6-8 years of pertinent work experience.
• Active, unrestricted medical license (MD or DO).
• Board certification in a related specialty, ideally in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or General Surgery.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% based on business requirements.
• Availability to work additional or irregular hours as necessary.
• Must adhere to applicable security policies and procedures to protect company and client information.
• Ability to sit and view a computer screen for extended periods.
• Candidates for U.S.-based positions with WellSky must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Certain client-facing roles may require compliance with relevant requirements, including immunizations and occupational health mandates.
