
Medical Data Associate – Oncology Registry

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Conducts case finding and follow-up for oncology registry in alignment with the standards set by the Commission on Cancer (CoC) and the Pennsylvania Cancer Registry (PCR).
• Recognizes cases that meet reporting criteria for entry into the cancer registry database.
• Ensures successful follow-up rates by utilizing various Electronic Health Record (EHR) sources.
• Initiates the abstraction of necessary data elements.
• Performs additional tasks as assigned or requested.
• Associate’s degree in a healthcare-related field or equivalent experience and/or education in lieu of an Associate's degree.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience with a solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and/or medical terminology.
• Proficient in analyzing and interpreting medical and treatment-related information.
• Experienced in collaborating with various disciplines to gather cancer data.
• Familiarity with EPIC systems.
• Prior experience in oncology registry.
• Eligible to take the Certified Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) exam.
• Registered Health Information Technician/Administrator (RHIT/RHIA) status or eligibility.
