This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Review and verify medical coding sets for accuracy.
• Convert diagnoses, procedures, and services into standardized coding formats.
• Ensure adherence to VA coding policies and billing standards.
• Utilize ICD, CPT, HCPCS, and other VHA-approved coding systems.
• Stay updated on coding revisions and CCN Next Gen-specific coding requirements.
• Conduct coding quality assurance, audits, and resolve discrepancies.
• Generate coding reports.
• Engage in meetings related to coding activities.
• Certificate Program is mandatory.
• A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience is required.
• Must hold one of the following certifications: AHIMA or AAPC Apprentice/Associate Certification; AHIMA or AAPC Mastery-Level Certification; AHIMA or ACDIS Clinical Documentation Improvement Certification.
• Strong knowledge of VHA coding systems and code sets is essential.
• Sponsorship is not available.
• Must have resided continuously in the United States for the past three (3) years before appointment at a federal facility.
• Capability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders throughout the work shift.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
• Ability to carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance.
• Ability to exert a push/pull force of 30 lbs.
