Medical Billing and Insurance Intake Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil, +7 more countries.

📋 Description

• Dispatch medical invoices and accompanying documentation to insurance providers

• Keep precise records within the ticketing system

• Start and monitor authorization-related inquiries and requests

• Contact insurance companies to verify the status of authorization requests

• Support the utilization review team with insurance verification and follow-up activities

• Follow up on initial cases to guarantee accuracy and completeness

• Confirm patient demographics, insurance ID numbers, and diagnosis codes

• Reach out to insurance providers to provide necessary medical information

• Verify receipt of faxed documentation with insurance carriers

• Collaborate with internal teams to confirm patient and insurance information

• Ensure that authorization requests are submitted and tracked correctly

⛳️ Requirements

• 2-3 years of experience in an intake role

• Experience in insurance verification

• Comfortable making regular outbound calls to insurance companies

• Ability to manage multiple authorization requests and follow-up tasks concurrently

• Eagerness to grow in the position and commit long-term

• Professional and confident phone demeanor

• Task-oriented and exceptionally organized

• Patient and focused when under pressure

• Self-driven with the capability to work independently

• Detail-oriented with a strong follow-through

• Ability to effectively gather necessary insurance information

• Willingness to learn and develop long-term within the role

• Familiarity with CRM ticketing system: HouseGap

• Experience with VOIP system: RingCentral

• Proficient in email platform: Google

• Documentation and collaboration tools: Google Docs

• VPN access is required

• Proficiency in English and Spanish

• Availability to work from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM PST/PDT
