Media & Marketing Writer Intern

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Create and refine short-form content for various projects within the Media and Marketing Department.

• Assist with Care to Converse content by providing concise copy, summaries, prompts, and promotional materials.

• Aid in the development of Thursday Terminology posts that clarify civic, political, and policy terms in an accessible manner.

• Write and edit descriptions, titles, summaries, and promotional text for podcast episodes intended for publishing platforms.

• Transform concepts and longer source material into succinct captions, scripts, blurbs, and audience-facing content.

• Ensure clarity, grammar, tone, factual accuracy, and alignment with ONC’s mission through proofreading.

• Collaborate effectively with writers, podcast producers, designers, team members, and department leadership.

• Integrate feedback and adhere to established deadlines.

• Excellent writing and editing capabilities, particularly in short-form content.

• Skill in distilling complex or extensive information into clear and engaging summaries.

• Strong judgment regarding tone, audience, accuracy, and nonpartisan communication.

• Enthusiasm for media, marketing, civic engagement, public policy, or educational content.

• Reliable communication skills and the ability to work independently within a remote team setting.

• Commitment to the role through the end of the current semester.

• Familiarity with Zoom, Slack, and Google Workspace for effective remote collaboration.
