Media Consultant – Safety Net Mechanism

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Belgium.

📋 Description

• Evaluate applicants and support requests, which includes reviewing content, verifying information, and checking references.

• Guide applicants following their initial submissions and assist in refining proposals for consideration under the Safety Net mechanism.

• Create reports, updates, and analyses of relevant media ecosystems in Eurasia.

• Identify and engage with key stakeholders pertinent to the Safety Net mandate.

• Aid in reviewing narrative reports submitted by beneficiaries of the Safety Net.

• Prepare progress reports, briefings, and other materials for stakeholders, especially donors.

• Facilitate the implementation of the Safety Net mechanism through event coordination.

• Commission external experts as needed.

• Draft contracts and other necessary documentation.

• Operate under the direct supervision of the Safety Net Project Manager and the overall guidance of the EED Executive Director.

⛳️ Requirements

• Relevant professional experience in media.

• Experience with an organization that provides grants or media support.

• Comprehensive proficiency in both English and Russian.

• Ability to uphold complete confidentiality and exercise discretion, tact, and confidentiality with diverse groups.

• Capacity to build strong working relationships internally and externally at all levels.

• High standards of personal and professional conduct.

• Ability to thrive in a multicultural environment.

• References that demonstrate suitability for the role.
