This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop, analyze, review, or audit advanced physics problems within the applicant's specialized subfield.
• Generate comprehensive written explanations that can be independently followed and verified by another expert.
• Engage with benchmark problems that involve special functions, integrable systems, permutation combinatorics, random tensor network entanglement, or conformal geometry.
• Identify relevant research areas and provide corresponding arXiv IDs or DOIs.
• Participate in an onboarding session or a brief live alignment call to finalize the area and assignment.
• Complete a short assessment lasting 30–45 minutes if requested.
• Collaborate asynchronously on projects aimed at training and enhancing cutting-edge AI systems.
• Fulfill assignments during a continuous engagement lasting 8–10 weeks, subject to possible project extension, shortening, or early conclusion.
• PhD in mathematical physics, theoretical physics, or mathematics (mandatory requirement).
• Postdoctoral researchers, research scientists, and junior faculty are the best candidates.
• Senior PhD students with a strong record as a first author are encouraged to apply.
• Published research on one of the specified topics: special functions, integrable systems, permutation combinatorics for random tensor network entanglement, or conformal geometry.
• A verifiable publication record with three to five representative papers, including arXiv IDs or DOIs; preference for first authorship.
• Proficient in LaTeX, Python, SymPy, and Jupyter.
• Familiarity with an agentic coding extension in VS Code is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Proficiency in English at a B2 level or higher, including written reasoning skills.
• Ability to commit to 10 hours of work per week over an 8 to 10 week period, starting immediately.
• Must operate as an independent contractor.
• H-1B and STEM OPT candidates are not eligible.
• Required to provide evidence of authorship and methods demonstrated in selected research areas.
• Work remotely and asynchronously without fixed hours.
