This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.
• Drive the adoption, market penetration, and expansion of BD’s Surgiphor portfolio across designated strategic accounts and regions.
• Collaborate with National Accounts, Direct/Indirect Sales, Marketing, Professional Education, and Medical Affairs to foster growth.
• Act as the product-line champion for Surgiphor, providing both clinical and commercial expertise to stakeholders.
• Support and collaborate with 1099 distribution partners as well as internal sales and account teams.
• Train 1099 representatives and assist in educating surgeons.
• Broaden accounts beyond Orthopedic or 1099-driven businesses while maintaining existing non-1099-covered accounts.
• Manage the SFDC pipeline, funnel, and forecasting, including funnel roll-up from 1099 partners.
• Enhance product knowledge and position BD as the preferred partner for surgical wound irrigation.
• Achieve sales targets and expand the Surgiphor presence in the assigned area.
• Cultivate new customer relationships and sustain long-term connections with existing clients.
• Establish and maintain relationships with Surgiphor Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in collaboration with the Medical Science Liaison team.
• Contribute to National and Regional Symposia through sales, market research, and KOL relationship management.
• Conduct product demonstrations, in-servicing, and training for clinical staff.
• Identify new business prospects and execute strategic plans to enhance market share.
• Attend surgeries to provide technical support and ensure the proper use of products.
• Work with marketing, customer service, and medical affairs to address customer needs and guarantee product availability.
• Deliver timely feedback on customer requirements and issues affecting the Surgical Wound Irrigation market.
• Document sales metrics and provide performance feedback in Salesforce.com.
• Monitor territory performance to achieve and surpass annual sales objectives.
• Manage the individual budget effectively.
• Adhere to BD quality processes, report customer complaints, and conduct business in accordance with BD policies and the Code of Ethics.
• Follow daily, weekly, and monthly Salesforce management protocols.
• Undertake special projects and other assigned responsibilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Life Sciences, or a related field is required.
• A minimum of 5 years of sales experience, preferably within the medical device/MedTech sector.
• Ideally, 3+ years of proven sales experience with surgical wound irrigation products.
• Ability to work respectfully in an Operating Room, endure observing surgeries, and stand for extended periods.
• Previous experience with 1099 and/or IDN-level contracting is preferred.
• Documented success in meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Familiarity with wound irrigation and infection prevention markets.
• Strong skills in persuasion and influence.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Self-motivated with the capacity to take on additional responsibilities and manage priorities with minimal supervision.
• Good judgment and professional demeanor.
• Capability to develop and maintain professional relationships with hospitals, sales personnel, and home-office staff.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Must pass a criminal background check satisfactory to BD.
• Must meet and maintain customer/medical facility access requirements, including necessary drug screenings with satisfactory results.
• Must sustain vendor credentialing.
• Must hold and maintain a valid state-issued driver’s license and comply with BD auto safety standards.
• Willingness to travel within the specified geographic area up to 75% of the time, including multiple overnight stays.
• Must be able to discuss products in relation to human anatomy.
• Strong understanding of medical and surgical terminology.
• High clinical competence and confidence in the Operating Room.
