Market Development Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Enhance the clinical adoption and utilization of Precision Diagnostics solutions in key healthcare markets.

• Identify and rank providers, accounts, and emerging market opportunities using Acuity, Salesforce, market intelligence, and additional data sources.

• Engage with healthcare providers both virtually and in person to convey the value of diagnostic testing and promote appropriate adoption.

• Sustain provider engagement throughout the conversion, adoption, and ongoing utilization processes.

• Influence ordering behaviors, including the transition to sFLC and/or panel usage.

• Broaden adoption among clinicians, practices, centers, and healthcare organizations.

• Cultivate market share through provider adoption, testing utilization, and focused commercial growth initiatives.

• Identify and foster opportunities within health systems, IDNs, FQHCs, primary care, specialty care, and other healthcare sectors.

• Manage and prioritize a designated book of business.

• Collaborate with reference laboratory sales teams and Thermo Fisher's Sales, Marketing, Education, and other business units.

• Track adoption, uncover growth opportunities, and refine engagement strategies utilizing provider, account, and utilization data.

• Keep accurate records of leads, accounts, activities, and opportunities in Salesforce.

• Provide market and customer insights to Sales, Marketing, and commercial leadership teams.

• Conduct in-person customer interactions, encompassing provider meetings, health-system initiatives, partnerships with reference laboratories, and targeted market-development efforts.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree is required.

• A minimum of three years of proven experience in laboratory, diagnostics, medical device, pharmaceutical, healthcare sales, business development, market development, or a related commercial field.

• Proven capability to engage healthcare providers and sway customer adoption or ordering behaviors.

• Experience in identifying, prioritizing, and cultivating commercial opportunities.

• Preferred knowledge of or experience with primary care, specialty care, health systems, IDNs, ACOs, FQHCs, or reference laboratories.

• Proficiency in using Salesforce or similar CRM platforms, along with commercial or market-intelligence tools.

• Ability to analyze market and customer data to identify and prioritize growth prospects.

• Excellent communication, presentation, relationship-building, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

• Capable of working independently while effectively navigating a matrixed commercial organization.

• Willingness to travel approximately 25%, including overnight trips.
