This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Provide executive financial leadership and oversight for the designated market.
• Direct the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes.
• Spearhead the development, execution, and reporting of the annual strategic plan and operating budget.
• Oversee the monthly financial forecasts and projections.
• Monitor market and facility performance through financial and operational metrics.
• Identify variances, formulate corrective action plans, and collaborate with operational leaders on improvements.
• Offer actionable financial insights and recommendations to market and facility leadership.
• Develop and implement strategic business plans in conjunction with market and operational leadership.
• Lead financial analysis and pro formas for acquisitions, physician practice transactions, service line expansions, capital investments, and other strategic initiatives.
• Support the due diligence and financial evaluation of acquisitions and growth opportunities.
• Conduct performance reviews post-investment and acquisition.
• Develop and manage the market's capital expenditure plan.
• Identify opportunities for enhancing profitability, efficiency, revenue growth, and resource utilization.
• Act as a financial advisor and strategic business partner to market and facility leadership.
• Collaborate with Hospital CEOs, Market/Regional leadership, physicians, and operational stakeholders.
• Work alongside corporate functions including revenue cycle, accounting, treasury, supply chain, human resources, physician practice operations, payer contracting, and other departments.
• Support initiatives related to labor management, revenue optimization, expense management, physician alignment, and operational efficiency.
• Participate in strategic committees and organizational initiatives.
• Convert complex financial data into actionable recommendations.
• Ensure adherence to financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Maintain financial governance and accountability throughout the market.
• Guarantee the accurate and timely completion of financial reporting, regulatory submissions, and required mandates.
• Monitor compliance with capital approval processes and contracting standards.
• Identify financial risks and create mitigation strategies.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the market finance team.
• Direct finance leaders and team members, including Hospital CFOs, Directors of Finance, and Financial Analysts.
• Set performance expectations and foster accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and professional growth.
• Develop emerging finance leaders and maintain succession plans.
• Ensure finance teams meet deadlines for reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and operational tasks.
• Promote consistent financial practices and processes across the market.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
• An MBA or another advanced business degree is preferred.
• At least 8 years of progressive financial management experience is necessary.
• A minimum of 5 years in a leadership position is required.
• Experience in leading and developing high-performing finance teams within a complex, matrixed organization is essential.
• Preferred experience in supporting strategic growth initiatives, acquisitions, physician transactions, service line development, and capital planning.
• CPA certification is preferred.
• Ability to effectively partner with executive and operational leadership is crucial.
• Strong understanding of healthcare operating metrics and the link between operational performance and financial results is essential.
• Capacity to analyze intricate financial data, recognize trends and opportunities, and convert findings into actionable business recommendations.
• Exceptional strategic thinking, communication, influencing, and leadership abilities are required.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and function effectively in a fast-paced environment is necessary.
