Manager, Software Engineering – Identity and Access Management

📋 Description

• Collaborate with the product manager to evaluate customer requirements, co-develop the roadmap, and oversee delivery.

• Balance substantial investments with a consistent influx of customer requests while ensuring predictable delivery.

• Lead architectural decisions and technical design for the detailed access-control framework.

• Recruit and onboard engineers; mentor them through challenges associated with growth.

• Enhance team norms and delivery rhythms.

• Track production SLOs, SLAs, and system health, taking prompt action to achieve reliability objectives.

• Collaborate with security and compliance partners on reviews, audits, and customer obligations.

• Acquire knowledge about authentication and authorization systems, customer access-management workflows, and pain points during the onboarding process.

• Oversee the team's daily operations and outline the broader access-control roadmap.

• Take responsibility for execution, expand the team, and implement ambitious roadmap initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Understanding of enterprise software and the security-focused expectations of customers regarding access control, authentication, and auditability.

• Experience in shaping team operations, norms, working agreements, and cross-team collaborations.

• Capability to collaborate with a product manager on defining and executing the roadmap.

• Technical expertise to evaluate design-review risks, comprehend critical code paths, and assess engineering trade-offs.

• Direct experience in managing engineers, fostering career development, enhancing proficiency, and holding engineers accountable.

• Strong background in partnering with recruitment, making hiring choices, finalizing hires, and building diverse and inclusive teams.

• Proven ability to attract, secure, and retain engineers at various levels.

• Experience in developing platform capabilities adopted by other engineering teams.

• Experience in promoting adoption through collaboration and negotiation.

• Experience in managing dependencies across product and infrastructure teams.
