This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Provide or oversee fee-based sales tax advisory support services for clients.
• Allocate and guide advisory personnel throughout engagements, managing schedules, tracking progress, producing reports, reviewing materials, and delivering to clients.
• Oversee client interactions conducted by consulting staff.
• Execute client engagements either independently or in collaboration with Sales Tax Advisory Team members.
• Draft and submit engagement proposals under the guidance of the Director of Sales Tax.
• Create and deliver tax seminars and workshops for clients.
• Participate in Ryan's internal sales tax training sessions.
• Aid in the development of additional client service offerings.
• Foster the professional growth of direct-report employees.
• Prepare and finalize exception reports for clients in French.
• Collaborate with the Montreal-based Advisory Team to address French client support inquiries during a transition phase.
• Assist with the technical aspects of Quality & Assurance process reviews for French sales tax review files.
• Undertake other responsibilities as assigned.
• Professional accounting designation (CPA-CGA, CPA-CMA, or CPA-CA) or a Law degree.
• A minimum of seven years of accounting or tax-related experience in consulting services, industry, and/or public accounting.
• Comprehensive understanding of Goods and Services Tax, Quebec Sales Tax, and Provincial Retail Sales Tax legislation and policies.
• Ideally, professional experience in the commodity tax sector.
• Proficient in both written and spoken French and English.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, and Outlook.
• Intermediate knowledge of internet navigation and research skills.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• A Canadian passport is necessary.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%, with potential overnight travel of up to 10% for periods lasting up to one week.
• Capability to carry out tasks in a standard indoor work environment and remain seated for extended periods while using a computer.
• Ability to engage regularly with employees and clients in person, via email, and over the phone.
