This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +33 more states.
• Oversee pricing and underwriting activities for new business, renewal business, client pricing inquiries, RFP submissions, finalist presentations, and various financial analyses as needed.
• Guide, mentor, and train supervisors and analysts to ensure accurate, timely, and consistent delivery of pricing, underwriting, and risk analysis outputs.
• Supervise the interpretation and application of claims utilization, network pricing, pharmaceutical rebate pricing, administrative fee pricing, trends, government services impacts, client profitability, and other pertinent data.
• Lead the development, maintenance, and utilization of pricing models, risk evaluation models, and client profitability assessments.
• Assess pricing risk, financial guarantee exposure, and the value generated from client relationships.
• Maintain and enforce underwriting guidelines, pricing standards, approval processes, policies, procedures, work instructions, and quality assurance practices.
• Engage in client meetings, finalist presentations, and internal strategic discussions.
• Assist in periodic leadership reporting concerning pricing, underwriting, client profitability, business value, risk exposure, actual vs. expected performance, and related metrics.
• Recognize and implement process enhancements, model improvements, reporting advancements, training opportunities, and quality assurance measures.
• Establish, mentor, and nurture team members through coaching, feedback, and career development planning.
• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.
• A Bachelor’s degree, ideally in Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Actuarial Science, Economics, Risk Management, or Business, is required.
• A minimum of 4 years of pricing and/or underwriting experience in pharmacy benefit management, managed care, or a related environment is required.
• At least 2 years of progressive leadership experience, which may encompass leading individual contributors or teams, or equivalent leadership roles such as coaching, mentoring, or managing complex initiatives or projects, is required.
• Experience in the pharmacy benefit management sector is preferred.
• Familiarity with using financial valuation models and analyzing results is preferred.
• Must participate in, comply with, and support the objectives of the compliance program.
• Ability to consistently interact cooperatively and respectfully with colleagues is essential.
