Manager, Information Security Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead and cultivate a global team of Security Operations analysts and engineers, ensuring 24x7 coverage and safeguarding for the organization.

• Take ownership of 24x7 alert monitoring, guaranteeing prompt triage, escalation, and resolution of security incidents.

• Manage the SIEM platform, which includes log ingestion, detection rule tuning, and comprehensive coverage throughout the environment.

• Direct vulnerability management activities, including scanning, prioritization, and tracking of remediation across systems and applications.

• Lead security investigations and incident response, serving as the primary escalation point for the Security Operations team.

• Enhance and develop proactive threat hunting capabilities to identify risks before they escalate into incidents.

• Oversee Data Loss Prevention (DLP) tools and policy enforcement to safeguard sensitive company information.

• Spearhead internal (non-product) penetration testing initiatives to validate security controls and identify vulnerabilities.

• Conduct security assessments of new tools, vendors, and internal projects to evaluate and mitigate risks.

• Manage the evaluation and review of AI tools adopted within the company, ensuring compliance with security standards.

• Create and implement Security Operations policies, procedures, and documentation to guarantee consistent, high-quality service delivery.

• Collaborate with engineering, product management, research, threat intelligence, support, IT, finance, legal, and other corporate functions.

• Conduct regular performance evaluations of Security Operations personnel, providing development guidance and constructive feedback.

• Oversee third-party providers for MSSP, MDR, and other security operations activities.

• Serve as a senior escalation point during active incidents, including outside of standard business hours.

• Perform occasional on-call duties as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5-8 years of experience in information security operations as an individual contributor.

• 2-5 years of experience managing and developing a Security Operations or SOC team, preferably across multiple regions and time zones.

• Required experience in SaaS, Software Development, Tech, and/or Fintech.

• Demonstrated expertise in handling AI security.

• Well-versed in SecOps best practices, including SIEM management, vulnerability management, investigations, incident response, and threat hunting.

• Experience in owning or contributing to DLP, internal penetration testing, and security review initiatives.

• Proven track record in managing AI security, including risk assessment and governance of AI tools, models, and integrations utilized across the organization.

• Ability to collaborate with teams throughout the organization to enhance security in infrastructure, cloud, and enterprise environments.

• Proficient in managing multiple priorities, projects, and a distributed team in a dynamic environment.

• Passionate about process enhancements, documentation, and automation.

• Strong oral and written communication skills, capable of presenting to stakeholders with diverse levels of technological proficiency.

• Adept at coaching, mentoring, and developing talent, including conducting performance reviews and providing feedback.

• Lead by example to enhance communications and processes within and among teams.

• Recognize the importance of your team achieving 'measurable success.'

• Current or former security leadership or technical certifications such as CISSP, CISM, SANS GPEN, CEH, or similar are advantageous.

• Experience with industry-standard SIEM tools.

• Background in working at a security product company.

• Understanding of cloud technologies and infrastructure.

• Experience in managing or mentoring geographically distributed, global teams.
