Manager, Information Security Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead and cultivate a worldwide team of Security Operations analysts and engineers, delivering 24x7 coverage and safeguarding the organization.

• Take ownership of 24x7 alert monitoring, ensuring prompt triage, escalation, and resolution of security incidents.

• Manage the SIEM platform, encompassing log ingestion, detection rule tuning, and comprehensive coverage across the environment.

• Direct vulnerability management, including scanning, prioritization, and tracking remediation across systems and applications.

• Lead security investigations and incident responses, serving as the primary escalation point for the Security Operations team.

• Develop and enhance proactive threat hunting capabilities to detect risks before they escalate into incidents.

• Supervise Data Loss Prevention (DLP) tools and policy enforcement to safeguard sensitive company information.

• Head internal (non-product) penetration testing initiatives to validate security measures and identify weaknesses.

• Perform security assessments of new tools, vendors, and internal projects to evaluate and mitigate risks.

• Oversee the evaluation and review of AI tools adopted by the company, ensuring compliance with security standards.

• Formulate and implement Security Operations policies, procedures, and documentation to guarantee consistent, high-quality service delivery.

• Collaborate with various departments, including engineering, product management, research, threat intelligence, support, IT, finance, and legal.

• Conduct regular performance evaluations of Security Operations staff, providing development guidance and constructive feedback.

• Manage third-party providers for Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP), Managed Detection and Response (MDR), and other security operations activities.

• Serve as a senior escalation point during active incidents, including outside regular business hours.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5-8 years of experience in information security operations as an individual contributor.

• 2-5 years of experience in managing and developing a Security Operations or SOC team, preferably across multiple regions and time zones.

• Experience in SaaS, Software Development, Technology, and/or Fintech is essential.

• Demonstrated experience in managing AI security.

• Well-versed in SecOps best practices, including SIEM management, vulnerability management, investigations, incident response, and threat hunting.

• Experience owning or contributing to DLP, internal penetration testing, and security review initiatives.

• Proven track record in AI security, including risk assessment and governance of AI tools, models, and integrations utilized across the organization.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with teams across infrastructure, cloud, and enterprise environments.

• Proficient in managing multiple priorities, projects, and a distributed team in a fast-paced setting.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the capability to present information to stakeholders with varying technical expertise.

• Skilled in coaching, mentoring, and developing talent, including conducting performance reviews and providing feedback.

• Experience with industry-standard SIEM tools is a plus.

• Experience at a security product company is advantageous.

• Familiarity with cloud technologies and infrastructure is beneficial.

• Experience in managing or mentoring globally distributed teams is a plus.

• Current or former security leadership or technical certifications such as CISSP, CISM, SANS GPEN, CEH, or similar qualifications are advantageous.

• Occasional on-call responsibilities as required.
