Manager, Data Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Oversee assignment, workflow, and monitoring processes to guarantee the quality, consistency, and promptness of data engineering deliverables.

• Establish and uphold standards for data design, modeling, and deployment within Snowflake.

• Offer direction and training on foundational applications utilized throughout the development lifecycle.

• Evaluate new data ingestion patterns to enhance efficiency and the prompt availability of data.

• Formulate data delivery strategies and keep track of data release timelines.

• Advise data analysts on best practices for utilizing and querying new data assets.

• Interpret business requirements and swiftly implement effective technical solutions that support consistent enterprise data delivery.

• Develop and maintain ETL source-to-target mapping documents, data playbooks, and data flow inventories.

• Provide technical insights and best practices for design, modeling, and data presentation/implementation.

• Ensure the team's skills are aligned with future success.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven ability to manage and lead a technical team.

• Strong, clear communication skills with the capacity to translate complex information into business-friendly terms.

• Proficient in data modeling and design.

• Ability to handle multiple complex projects and adapt to shifting priorities.

• In-depth knowledge of Snowflake and WhereScape Azure toolsets.

• Familiarity with healthcare data sets, industry-standard data models, and transmission formats such as HL7 and ANSI.

• Understanding of Master Data Management, Data Quality, and Reference Data concepts, principles, and tools.

• Over 5 years of experience in designing and implementing data architecture, including conceptual, logical, physical, and dimensional models.

• At least 2 years of experience with cloud data infrastructure, preferably Azure.

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent experience in related projects.
