This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.
• Lead and cultivate the Competitive Programs team.
• Define team objectives, delegate tasks, mentor program managers, and uphold high standards for judgment, execution, and stakeholder engagement.
• Develop the portfolio and operational framework for centrally managed P0 and P1 competitor programs.
• Directly oversee the most complex competitive programs in collaboration with Product, GTM, Commercial, and executive stakeholders.
• Create repeatable playbooks and systems to swiftly address competitive threats and enhance organizational learning.
• Establish SOKRs, set portfolio priorities, craft work plans, and define success metrics; allocate program management resources.
• Design, implement, and oversee the lifecycle of P0 and P1 competitor programs.
• Enhance Stripe’s competitive operating system, including playbooks, program standards, decision logs, operational reviews, escalation processes, and executive reporting.
• Collaborate with Market Intelligence to convert competitive, customer, and deal signals into prioritized program actions.
• Coordinate with Product, PMM, Sales, Pricing, and Product S&O to ensure functional accountability.
• Provide decision-focused updates to senior leadership regarding program health, risks, outcomes, resource needs, and recommendations.
• Drive the implementation of the “competing fiercely” cultural transformation.
• Leverage program design and execution skills to address other strategic GTM priorities as business needs evolve.
• Over 9 years of experience in program management, business operations, GTM strategy, management consulting, or a related field, including roles in Sales, Marketing, Product, GTM Operations, or other commercial domains.
• At least 2 years of experience in people management, encompassing setting team goals, assigning tasks, coaching and developing seasoned individual contributors, and performance management.
• Ability to serve as a player-coach; comfortable working under pressure while remaining adaptable and flexible in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Proven success in leading complex and ambiguous cross-functional programs from problem identification to implementation, adoption, and sustainable operational transition.
• Experience in managing global programs across different regions, segments, and product lines.
• Ability to establish program objectives, work plans, operating rhythms, decision-making forums, and success metrics for complex initiatives involving multiple stakeholders.
• Strong judgment in prioritizing competing demands and effectively allocating limited team resources to the highest-value tasks.
• Experience in navigating senior stakeholders with varying incentives, priorities, and decision-making authority.
• Capacity to drive alignment while clearly articulating trade-offs and escalation pathways.
• Proven ability to convert ambiguous qualitative and quantitative inputs into clear recommendations for senior management.
• Exceptional executive communication skills, including decision-focused reporting and facilitation of senior-level working sessions.
• Strong analytical skills with a comfort in using data to evaluate program health, identify risks, measure outcomes, and inform prioritization.
• High level of ownership, sound judgment, adaptability, and the ability to lead through rapid change.
• Collaborative work style and a proactive “roll up your sleeves” attitude.
• Preferred: experience managing competitive programs, strategic-account initiatives, product launches, commercial transformations, or other high-stakes GTM projects.
• Preferred: experience in creating a new operating model, program management team, or repeatable playbook from inception.
• Preferred: experience working closely with Product, Product Operations, PMM, Sales, Pricing, Finance & Strategy, Market Intelligence, and GTM Systems teams.
• Preferred: familiarity with competitive intelligence, win/loss analysis, sales enablement, pricing, commercial strategy, product feedback mechanisms, or executive account programs.
• Preferred: experience within a B2B technology, enterprise software, fintech, payments, or platform organization.
• Preferred: proficiency with SQL, BI tools, or other means of analyzing pipeline, adoption, revenue, and operational data.
