This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mauritius, +1 more country.
• Spearhead the design, execution, and ongoing enhancement of ALU's institutional performance framework, encompassing KPIs, targets, scorecards, and performance metrics.
• Track performance relative to strategic and operational goals, pinpoint variances, emerging risks, and areas of underperformance, and suggest necessary interventions.
• Facilitate regular performance assessments and deliver insights on performance drivers and required actions.
• Examine enrolment, recruitment, retention, student progression, program performance, revenue, costs, resource utilization, and other strategic priorities.
• Set performance benchmarks and assist leadership in establishing measurable goals and targets.
• Identify trends, patterns, performance drivers, and root causes within institutional data.
• Create business cases, investment analyses, and decision-making documents.
• Conduct scenario analysis and modeling.
• Perform comprehensive business and institutional analyses for strategic planning, operational decisions, and strategic initiatives.
• Provide objective analysis and constructive challenges.
• Execute internal and external benchmarking.
• Convert analytical findings into actionable recommendations, implications, and activities for senior leadership.
• Oversee the creation of management information, executive performance reports, dashboards, and analytical products.
• Establish standards for performance reporting, data interpretation, and analytical storytelling.
• Develop forward-looking analyses and forecasts.
• Collaborate with data and technology teams to enhance institutional data access, integration, and reliability.
• Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and proper interpretation of performance information.
• Develop standards for analytical quality, delivery, and stakeholder service.
• Mentor team members in analytical thinking, problem-solving, business partnering, and effective communication of insights.
• Enhance analytical methodologies, tools, and processes; identify opportunities for automation and simplification.
• Advocate for evidence-based decision-making and a stronger reliance on data throughout ALU.
• Partner with various functions to create integrated perspectives on institutional performance.
• Establish data supply agreements and resolve definitional discrepancies across campuses, programs, and systems.
• Cultivate relationships with senior leaders, Deans, Directors, and functional teams.
• Present complex analyses to non-technical audiences and translate findings into actionable implications.
• Facilitate discussions on performance and assist with strategies to address performance gaps.
• Influence decisions through evidence, insights, and constructive challenges.
• Provide analytical support to strategic, executive, and governance forums.
• Maintain an understanding of ALU’s operational landscape, priorities, and strategic objectives.
• Comply with ALU’s comprehensive safeguarding policy and uphold a zero-tolerance stance on safeguarding violations.
• Over 10 years of pertinent professional experience in business performance, institutional research, strategy, business intelligence, analytics, planning, consulting, financial analysis, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in leading, developing, and managing organizational or institutional performance frameworks, including KPIs, targets, scorecards, and performance reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze intricate datasets and translate findings into actionable recommendations for senior decision-makers, as well as experience in forecasting, scenario modeling, business case development, and quantitative analysis.
• Experience in producing executive-level performance reports, dashboards, and materials that support decision-making.
• Proficiency in using data to identify performance drivers, diagnose issues, and facilitate measurable improvements in organizational outcomes.
• Proven track record of delivering analytical or performance enhancement initiatives that yielded measurable business, operational, financial, or institutional impact.
• Experience in benchmarking organizational or institutional performance against external peers, competitors, or sector standards is advantageous.
