Machine Learning Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Develop and enhance machine learning solutions across various projects.

• Take responsibility for assigned tasks and initiatives.

• Engage in client interactions and clearly convey deliverables.

• Grasp business objectives and create solutions along with metrics to monitor progress.

• Collaborate across functions with Data Engineering, DevOps, and Backend teams.

• Construct and sustain generative AI systems, including features powered by LLMs and agentic workflows.

• Create information retrieval pipelines that involve data ingestion, chunking, embeddings, and vector search.

• Contribute to evaluation frameworks and production monitoring for GenAI solutions.

• Manipulate, analyze, and visualize data, including data cleaning tasks.

• Deploy, maintain, and upgrade ML models and pipelines; assess model errors and devise remediation strategies.

• Author and maintain technical documentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.

• Over 2 years of experience in AI/ML engineering.

• Practical experience in building GenAI solutions, prompt engineering, fine-tuning and serving LLMs, as well as search and embeddings, using popular frameworks (LangChain/LangGraph, LlamaIndex).

• Familiarity with statistical, ML, and deep learning algorithms.

• Proficient understanding of cloud ML services, ideally AWS (Bedrock, AgentCore, SageMaker).

• Strong skills in Python and core ML libraries and frameworks (scikit-learn, PyTorch, HuggingFace, TensorFlow, Transformers).

• Awareness of containerization and orchestration tools.

• A collaborative attitude, with a willingness to receive feedback and a desire to enhance your skills.

• Eagerness to support and learn from more experienced members of the ML team.

• Self-sufficiency, adaptability, and a consistently positive demeanor within teams.

• Proficient in English; meetings, customer calls, and business communications are conducted entirely in English.

• CV should be submitted in English.
