Machine Learning Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Execute AI/ML projects on AWS utilizing both native services and custom-built models to deliver predictive insights.

• Assist in cloud migrations, enhance customer databases and data flows, and augment operational and functional data flows with AI/ML algorithms.

• Design, construct, and manage infrastructure for extracting, transforming, and loading data from diverse sources using SQL, AWS migration, and big data technologies.

• Enhance cloud RDBMS engines and address customer security, performance, and operational challenges.

• Design, construct, and manage large, intricate data lakes that satisfy both functional and non-functional business requirements.

• Improve the ingestion, storage, processing, and retrieval of data, including near-real-time events and IoT, as well as unstructured images, audio, video, and documents.

• Utilize Jupyter Notebooks to develop and deploy ML models.

• Leverage AWS's pre-built AI/ML solutions.

• Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders, including executives, product teams, data specialists, software developers, and design teams, on data-related technical issues and infrastructure requirements.

• Ensure the separation and security of customer data to comply with regulatory and compliance standards.

• Assist in designing new systems and migrating existing ones in partnership with solutions architects, project managers, and data scientists.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience in a Data Scientist/Machine Learning Engineer position.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Informatics, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field (Graduate degree preferred).

• Proficient in big data tools, including Spark, ElasticSearch, Hadoop, Kafka, and Kinesis.

• Familiarity with relational SQL and NoSQL databases such as MySQL, Postgres, DynamoDB, or Cassandra.

• Experience with AWS cloud services, including EC2, RDS, EMR, and Redshift.

• Knowledge of functional and scripting languages, including Python, Java, and Scala.

• Experience in developing ML models for classification, scoring, and other applications.

• Background in Deep Learning Neural Networks, including Convolutional Neural Networks and Natural Language Processing.

• Familiarity with AWS AI/ML Services.

• Proficient in Python coding.

• Advanced SQL skills and hands-on experience with relational databases, including query writing.

• Experience in building and optimizing big data pipelines, architectures, and datasets.

• Strong analytical skills associated with unstructured datasets.

• Experience in building processes that facilitate data transformation, data structures, metadata management, dependency management, and workload management.

• Working knowledge of message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable big data storage solutions.

• Experience in supporting and collaborating with external customers in a fast-paced environment.

• AWS Machine Learning Specialty certification is highly preferred.

• AWS Solutions Architect - Associate certification is highly preferred.
