This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Supervise and manage all legal decisions for client cases that reach litigation status.
• Ensure the Litigation Team promptly responds to and returns client calls.
• Take swift action concerning litigation cases.
• Immediately record all pertinent information in case files.
• Guide legal decisions throughout every stage of litigation.
• Assess the relevance of laws and statutes to potential case recoveries.
• Communicate effectively with clients, insurance adjusters, and medical providers.
• Resolve cases efficiently while striving for the highest possible settlements.
• Negotiate settlements for personal injury cases.
• Depose involved parties and fact as well as expert witnesses.
• Employ effective litigation strategies for either settlement or trial.
• Draft and present motions.
• Participate in mediation sessions.
• Represent the firm in court appearances.
• Prepare for and attend trial in a first or second chair capacity, as needed.
• Ensure adherence to the legal and ethical standards set by the State Bar of Texas.
• Must be licensed to practice law in the State of Texas.
• 3 to 5 years of litigation and trial experience in Texas personal injury law.
• Required experience as a 2nd Chair.
• Preferred experience as a 1st Chair.
• Proven experience handling contested motions.
• Experience in taking and defending depositions of parties and experts.
• Familiarity with mediation in personal injury cases.
• Willingness to manage a pre-litigation caseload while developing a full litigation docket.
• Proficient in computer use, including document drafting and e-filing.
• Willingness for light travel throughout Texas.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong overall time management abilities.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to multitask and manage a high-volume litigation docket.
• Detail-oriented, strategic thinker, and assertive advocate.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, but not mandatory.
