Linguist – Malagasy, UI Technical/Marketing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Modify intricate software interfaces and create support documentation tailored for native Malagasy users.

• Adapt global marketing initiatives and brand messaging to resonate with the Malagasy-speaking audience.

• Localize product descriptions and e-commerce content, encompassing product listings and user interface text.

• Implement regional naming conventions and formatting guidelines.

• Maintain quality standards and uphold brand integrity.

• Collaborate with production and quality assurance teams to ensure timely project delivery that meets client requirements.

• Participate in AI and language technology initiatives.

• Complete the application process, set up payment, and finalize onboarding once selected.

• Undertake a domain-specific assessment if necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in Malagasy at a native level.

• A graduate degree in translation, linguistics, or language studies, OR a degree in another discipline along with 2 years of full-time professional translation experience, OR 5 years of full-time professional translation experience.

• Capability to adhere closely to terminology and reference materials.

• Demonstrated professional experience in translation and localization within marketing, user interface/software, or e-commerce content.

• Prior experience with app or platform localization is preferred.

• Consistent availability and dedication; most tasks require at least 2 hours daily or 10 hours weekly.

• Resume must be submitted in English.

• Ability to operate as an independent 1099 contractor and manage personal tax responsibilities.

• Contractors must not be located in regions subject to international embargoes or sanctions.
