This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa.
• Deliver high-quality nursing care to residents of diverse ages in long-term care settings under the guidance of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician.
• Exhibit a strong understanding of nursing principles and practices within the complete range of nursing expertise.
• Implement age- and population-specific standards to address residents’ physical and psychosocial needs as outlined in care plans.
• Conduct assessments to gather data that reflects the status of residents.
• Identify issues, suggest solutions, and respond adeptly in emergency situations.
• Ensure the health, comfort, and safety of residents.
• Participate in resident assessments and administer prescribed medications or treatments.
• Provide technical assistance to healthcare professionals as required.
• Record interactions with residents and document outcomes related to care, medications, behaviors, activities, and dietary requirements.
• Build and sustain effective relationships with residents, healthcare providers, and the community.
• Collaborate as part of an interdisciplinary care team.
• Uphold the confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Guide residents, family members, and/or resident advocates under clinical supervision regarding prevention and treatment strategies.
• Create self-care programs for residents utilizing educational principles.
• Perform additional related tasks as assigned.
• Willingness to travel to support various locations within a 75-mile radius of the permanent address.
• A minimum of 3 months of experience in Long Term Care is required (6 months preferred).
• Availability for at least 30 hours of work per month.
• Commitment to one weekend shift each month.
• Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program and licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Completion of a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the lifespan, or at least 400 hours of experience as an LPN in another facility.
• Currently possess an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license from the State Nursing Board and/or have multi-state licensure privileges.
• Must obtain and maintain the necessary department-specific competencies and certifications.
• Completion of required annual continuing education units (CEUs) and competency training mandated by the department and facility.
• If applicable, graduation from a Board-approved AASPN program that includes IV therapy in the curriculum or completion of an IV Therapy course authorized by the North Dakota Board of Nursing.
• An additional $10/hour premium on all hours worked.
• A weekend shift differential of $1.25/hour.
• An evening/night shift differential of $1.25/hour (from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM).
