This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Lead and execute the installation, programming, startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and closeout of DDC control systems for intricate commercial projects independently.

β€’ Analyze project drawings, specifications, operational sequences, and control submittals to create effective control solutions.

β€’ Program and set up DDC controllers, supervisory devices, graphics, and peripheral equipment.

β€’ Develop and implement control logic and sequences that promote reliability, energy efficiency, occupant comfort, and optimal equipment performance.

β€’ Conduct point-to-point checkout, functional testing, startup, commissioning, and performance verification.

β€’ Troubleshoot controllers, sensors, actuators, valves, relays, networks, communication protocols, and equipment interfaces.

β€’ Identify issues and collaborate with relevant trades for corrective actions.

β€’ Provide troubleshooting and support for BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, MS/TP, and IP-based building automation networks.

β€’ Collaborate with contractors, electricians, TAB contractors, equipment manufacturers, IT staff, commissioning agents, project managers, engineers, and clients.

β€’ Review control drawings, wiring diagrams, sequences, specifications, and equipment documentation.

β€’ Offer field direction and technical support to Level 1 and Level 2 Controls Technicians.

β€’ Mentor and train junior technicians.

β€’ Assist in upgrades, retrofits, expansions, integrations, and service-related projects.

β€’ Conduct field inspections to ensure installation quality, wiring, device placement, panel construction, and compliance.

β€’ Maintain project documentation, including point lists, commissioning records, as-built data, startup documentation, and punch lists.

β€’ Participate in project coordination, progress review, and customer meetings.

β€’ Act as a technical point of contact for clients.

β€’ Support project managers and sales teams with technical assessments, system enhancements, estimating assistance, and future opportunities.

β€’ Stay informed about DDC, HVAC, networking, IoT, and building automation technologies.

β€’ Ensure compliance with applicable codes, project specifications, company procedures, and safety standards.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ A minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience with DDC controls, building automation systems, HVAC controls, or a related field.

β€’ Ability to manage complex controls projects independently from installation to commissioning and closeout.

β€’ Advanced programming experience with Reliable, Niagara, Tridium, or similar DDC/BAS platforms.

β€’ Strong knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, and IP-based communication systems.

β€’ Experience in integrating DDC systems with HVAC equipment and other building systems.

β€’ In-depth understanding of commercial HVAC systems, including AHUs, RTUs, VAV systems, chillers, boilers, pumps, cooling towers, and related equipment.

β€’ Proficient in reading control drawings, electrical schematics, mechanical plans, operational sequences, and project specifications.

β€’ Strong knowledge of low-voltage control wiring, 24VAC systems, relays, transformers, sensors, actuators, and electrical troubleshooting.

β€’ Working knowledge of electrical codes and safe electrical practices.

β€’ Proficient in troubleshooting complex issues using diagnostic tools, software, meters, network tools, and system information.

β€’ Strong understanding of BACnet MS/TP, BACnet/IP, Ethernet, and basic network troubleshooting.

β€’ Ability to differentiate controls-related problems from mechanical, electrical, equipment, TAB, or networking issues.

β€’ Excellent organizational and project management capabilities.

β€’ Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, contractors, engineers, project managers, and internal teams.

β€’ Proven leadership skills and a willingness to train, mentor, and assist junior technicians.

β€’ A valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various project sites as necessary.

β€’ High school diploma or equivalent is required.

β€’ Equivalent hands-on experience will also be considered.
