This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Lead the structuring and execution of Standby and Commercial Letters of Credit.
• Analyze and interpret credit agreements alongside complex underlying transaction frameworks.
• Manage the complete process of closing and issuing Direct Pay Letters of Credit.
• Ensure compliance with risk, regulatory, and client specifications.
• Advocate for international trade finance solutions as a subject matter expert.
• Collaborate with correspondent banks and interact directly with clients.
• Offer strategic direction, product education, and tailored solutions to support client goals.
• Serve as an escalation point and act as a liaison among clients, front-line teams, and operations.
• Identify, escalate, and resolve discrepancies and complex challenges.
• Minimize risk and facilitate smooth execution.
• Provide leadership and direction for planning, development, strategies, and implementation roadmaps.
• Evaluate organizational objectives, outline mobilization activities, and establish achievable goals.
• Enhance departmental efficiency and adopt best-practice processes.
• Deliver leadership and management oversight to ensure high-quality processing and performance outcomes.
• Mentor and engage team members, including making recommendations regarding hiring, career advancement, performance assessments, salary adjustments, promotions, transfers, and terminations.
• Develop and enforce standards, processes, and procedures that align with financial services industry benchmarks.
• Collaborate with business units and functional groups to foster cohesion across large-scale initiatives.
• Oversee activities related to merger and conversion processes.
• Cultivate a results-driven team environment that consistently assesses operational effectiveness.
• Bachelor’s Degree in business or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• 5-7 years of experience in commercial lending, business administration, banking operations and management, strategic planning, or risk management.
• Strong expertise in lending, including consulting, commercial/retail products, specialty lending, appraisals, regulatory compliance, servicing, due diligence, documentation, funding, and reconciliations.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Capability to engage with executive leadership effectively.
• Strong leadership skills, excellent organizational capabilities, and adept planning skills.
• Proactive work ethic with the ability to function accurately and efficiently in a dynamic environment with shifting deadlines.
• Fluency in English is required.
• MBA or another advanced degree is preferred.
• Banking School Certification is preferred.
• Comprehensive understanding of relevant financial industry regulations such as ISP, UCP, Patriot Act, AML, and BSA is preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of SWIFT messaging is preferred.
• Experience interacting with corporate clients is preferred.
