This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Create and consistently enhance the service delivery model of the Legal Department.
• Recognize pain points where legal operations intersect with the business and devise improved workflows.
• Develop and manage legal intake and triage processes, starting with the review of marketing and advertising.
• Establish scalable systems for contract and knowledge management.
• Design the operating model for the legal department, covering intake, triage, execution, retention, and reporting.
• Create workflows for high-volume request categories.
• Implement and refine processes for contract management, knowledge management, and e-billing.
• Generate and document the contract approval matrix, along with contracts and regulatory playbooks, and create self-service resources.
• Oversee the selection, implementation, and integration of legal technology, including intake/workflow systems and Contract Lifecycle Management solutions.
• Ensure the legal technology tools are utilized to their maximum potential.
• Collaborate with Finance, IT, and other departments to synchronize legal technology and data with broader organizational systems and objectives.
• Assist legal leadership in formulating the department’s strategic plan and objectives.
• Track performance against strategic targets.
• Develop metrics and dashboards to inform staffing, budgetary, and prioritization decisions.
• Provide data-driven insights that facilitate change.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives involving Finance, IT, Marketing, and other collaborators.
• Report to the Associate General Counsel - Commercial and engage with the legal organization and business partners.
• Over 5 years of experience with substantial exposure to legal operations, including legal ops, process enhancement, program management, or business operations within a legal, regulatory, compliance, or policy context.
• Previous experience in a legal, regulatory, compliance, or policy setting is strongly preferred.
• Practical experience in deploying legal or business technology platforms (e.g., intake/workflow, CLM, DMS, e-billing).
• A willingness to learn and manage new tools is a fundamental requirement.
• Familiarity with financial concepts such as budgeting, accruals, and cost management.
• Ability to confidently engage with executives, outside counsel, and technology vendors.
• A process-oriented mindset, with the capability to design, document, and implement enhanced workflows.
• Proficiency in gathering data, building a case, and convincing stakeholders to embrace new processes.
• Excellent written, verbal, and listening abilities.
• Capacity to convey detailed or complex processes clearly to lawyers, executives, and business partners.
• Skill in collaborating across various levels, personalities, departments, and external stakeholders.
