This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Manage the legal intake process, triage, matter tracking, workflow administration, and status reporting.
• Streamline repetitive manual tasks by implementing standardized workflows, self-service tools, or automation.
• Act as the operational lead for the existing Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system.
• Oversee the requirements gathering for upcoming legal technology initiatives.
• Maintain corporate records, governance calendars, and facilitate board/committee meetings, filings, and entity management.
• Keep an organized compliance calendar that encompasses policies, training, audits, certifications, filings, assessments, and regular reviews.
• Collaborate on compliance projects involving Legal, Security, Engineering, Product, Finance, People, and other operational stakeholders.
• Assist with legal and administrative aspects of SOC 2, CMMC, privacy, accessibility, AI governance, and analogous initiatives.
• Manage policy inventories, review cycles, approval records, version histories, and employee acknowledgments.
• Develop and maintain Legal playbooks, standard operating procedures, decision trees, training materials, precedents, and internal guidance.
• Coordinate cross-functional Legal projects, documenting decisions, responsible parties, deadlines, and follow-up actions.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for Legal processes, intake, contract status, signatures, records, and documentation.
• Educate employees on Legal systems and workflows.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in legal operations, senior paralegal roles, corporate governance, contract operations, or compliance operations.
• Preferably have in-house experience at a tech/software/AI company.
• Proven ability to design and manage processes effectively.
• Familiarity with CLM or matter-management systems is essential.
• Experience with contract repositories, metadata management, and renewals.
• Background in corporate governance recordkeeping is required.
• Experience in tracking outside counsel budgets, invoices, or matter-related data.
• Strong project management skills across various functions.
• Exceptional attention to detail and sound judgment on when to consult an attorney.
• Comfort in handling confidential and privileged information.
• Ability to work independently while keeping Legal leadership updated.
• Paralegal certificate, project management credential, or legal operations certification is preferred.
• Familiarity with applications such as SpotDraft, Ironclad, DocuSign, HubSpot, Carta, or similar tools is an advantage.
• Experience supporting compliance programs related to privacy, security, AI, or accessibility, including SOC 2, CMMC, or GDPR is desirable.
• Experience working in an international business or with a venture-backed Series B/C company is a plus.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% annually.
• Ability to participate in on-site interviews and/or in-person onboarding processes as necessary.
