Legal Knowledge Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Convert legal reasoning, workflows, and procedural requirements into organized AI-driven systems.

• Create decision trees, escalation frameworks, workflow logic, and prompt architectures specifically for family law processes.

• Work collaboratively with attorneys and operational teams to uncover automation opportunities and enhance processes.

• Aid in structuring and sustaining institutional legal knowledge repositories, workflow playbooks, and operational guidance systems.

• Develop and enhance AI prompts, retrieval systems, and workflow orchestration logic.

• Assist in the creation of AI-powered intake systems, document automation processes, and client communication solutions.

• Collaborate with product managers, developers, and AI engineers on implementation and testing efforts.

• Help establish quality assurance, human-review, and escalation standards for AI-generated deliverables.

• Monitor AI outputs to ensure consistency, quality, compliance, and operational effectiveness.

• Engage in the testing, iteration, and optimization of AI-assisted legal workflows.

• Contribute to the documentation of legal workflows, system logic, and governance procedures.

• Keep abreast of emerging AI technologies, legal tech trends, and evolving regulatory factors affecting AI in legal services.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD), paralegal certification, legal operations experience, or comparable practical legal workflow experience.

• Over 3 years of experience in legal operations, legal technology, workflow design, legal process engineering, product operations, or related disciplines.

• Comprehensive understanding of legal workflows, procedural systems, and the design of operational processes.

• Outstanding analytical and systems-thinking skills.

• Capability to convert complex legal concepts into structured workflows and operational logic.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Strong organizational skills and project management expertise.

• Comfortable in highly collaborative, cross-functional settings.

• A keen interest and enthusiasm for AI, automation, and the evolving landscape of legal services.
