Legal Intern, Privacy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist Fetch in its data governance initiatives while collaborating closely with the Corporate Counsel and Privacy team.

• Engage in and document data discovery activities.

• Create data flow mappings.

• Help sustain Fetch’s data inventory.

• Acquire practical experience in establishing and upholding a privacy and data governance framework.

• Participate in a 3-month internship commencing in January 2027, reporting to the Corporate Counsel, Privacy.

• Exceptional attention to detail and comfort in managing intricate technical information.

• Capability to convert technical data concepts into clear and organized documentation.

• Interest in privacy law, data governance, and how technology companies manage personal data on a large scale.

• Ability to independently tackle structured projects and effectively communicate updates.

• Strong written and interpersonal communication abilities.

• Discretion when handling sensitive and/or confidential information.

• Coursework or exposure to privacy law, data protection, emerging technologies, or similar fields.

• Experience in reviewing or organizing technical or legal documents.

• Comfort with reading and interpreting policies, contracts, or regulatory materials.

• Currently a 2L or 3L actively enrolled in a J.D. program at an accredited law school.

• Maintaining good academic standing with your law school.

• Ability to work remotely for the entire duration of the 3-month internship.

• Willingness to commit to 12–15 hours per week throughout the internship period.

• IAPP certification (CIPP/US, CIPP/E, or similar) obtained or in progress is a plus.

• Previous internship or work experience related to data mapping, compliance, or data governance is advantageous.

• Familiarity with data inventory or data mapping tools is a bonus.
