Legal Intern

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Perform legal and factual research, along with analysis and writing tasks.

• Review and edit legal documents for citation accuracy and clarity.

• Aid in court filing processes.

• Support client advisory efforts.

• Offer additional assistance to the Lawyering Project’s legal programs as necessary.

• Foster an organizational culture that reflects the core values of the Lawyering Project.

• Acquire practical experience through various legal responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be currently enrolled in a law school within the United States.

• Strongly encourage current 2Ls, who will transition to 3Ls in summer 2027, to apply.

• Proven dedication to social justice and a particular interest in reproductive health, rights, and justice.

• Proficient in legal research, writing, and analytical skills.

• Capable of analyzing intricate legal issues, adhering to deadlines, thriving under pressure, and contributing to a collaborative, diverse, equitable, and inclusive team atmosphere.

• Submission of a resume.

• A cover letter detailing experience in legal research, writing, and analysis.

• Information regarding participation in legal clinics or responsibilities in law journals, if applicable.

• A brief explanation (not exceeding 150 words) of interest in supporting the Lawyering Project’s initiatives related to reproductive healthcare access.

• A writing sample of 5-10 pages that showcases legal writing and research abilities.

• Three professional references, including their name, organizational affiliation, title, and relationship to the applicant.

• Weekly stipend of $625, totaling up to $7,500 for a duration of 12 weeks, minus any funding received from the intern’s law school.
