This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Translate, edit, and/or transcribe legal documents and audio files related to law enforcement and legal topics from English to Spanish.
• Edit legal documents such as affidavits and depositions, utilizing legal terminology in both English and Spanish.
• Adhere to government client style guidelines and maintain quality standards.
• Employ domain-specific terminology effectively.
• Review and certify the quality of work produced by other translators as necessary.
• Replicate the formatting of source documents in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Utilize CAT tools, including Trados Studio.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Must be willing to complete necessary documentation, undergo fingerprinting, and obtain a U.S. security clearance.
• A minimum of two years of experience in translating and editing legal documents is required.
• Certification from ATA, NAJIT, or ProZ for English-to-Spanish translation is necessary.
• Availability for at least 15 hours per week to accept assignments is required.
• Highly proficient in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with the capability to mirror the format of source documents.
• Familiarity with CAT tools, such as Trados Studio, is essential.
• Advanced Proficiency level 3-plus in English and Spanish across reading, speaking, listening, and writing, as evaluated by the ILR scale.
• Strong understanding of legal terminology in both English and Spanish is crucial.
