Legal Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• Preparation, analysis, and review of commercial contracts, internal policies, and other legal documents.

• Implementation and maintenance of legal compliance across various business activities, including data protection, marketing, payments, and consumer rights protection.

• Analysis of legislation from tier-1 countries related to data protection, consumer rights, and artificial intelligence regulation.

• Development of practical advice and action plans for ensuring the business adheres to legislative requirements.

• Close collaboration with product managers and teams of developers, analysts, and marketers to mitigate legal risks.

• Resolution of consumer complaints and interaction with government authorities during investigations.

• Proactive identification, analysis, and management of potential legal risks in the jurisdictions where the company operates, focusing on North America, Europe, and Central Africa.

• Legal support for the company's ongoing operational activities.

• Communication with business partners, law firms, and service providers across various jurisdictions.

• Creation of products for users worldwide.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in English (including preparation of legal documents).

• International certifications such as IELTS/TOEFL will be an advantage.

• 3+ years of relevant experience in an international or leading law firm, in-house at a product IT company, or with one of the Big Four auditing firms.

• Successful completion of studies at a top law university.

• Ability to learn quickly.

• Attention to detail.

• Initiative and a desire to work on a wide variety of legal tasks while applying creative thinking.

• Diligence, organization, and the ability to work effectively in stressful situations.

• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Understanding of the operations of product IT companies.

• Knowledge of consumer rights protection and data protection legislation in the USA, EU, and other tier-1 countries.

• Participation in court debates (moot courts).
