Lead Specialist, Finance Business Partner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.

📋 Description

• Deliver strategic financial guidance to Pearson’s US Higher Education Portfolio and Content teams.

• Manage the annual operating expense budget and rolling forecasts.

• Take ownership of the capital investment budget and forecasting, including risk assessment, trade-offs, and prioritization.

• Develop, maintain, and present monthly reports for business stakeholders.

• Assist with revenue planning and analysis while overseeing the core revenue model.

• Create and enhance revenue, gross-margin, and profitability models.

• Conduct ad hoc analyses to support strategic and commercial decision-making.

• Collaborate with business leaders on investments, pricing, channel, and growth strategies.

• Utilize advanced Excel, data, and AI-enabled methods to enhance speed, quality, and insights.

• Refine models, automate reporting processes, and create forward-looking perspectives across Portfolio, Content, Finance, and cross-functional teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in FP&A, finance business partnering, corporate finance, or a similar field.

• Strong background in budgeting, forecasting, and business planning.

• Proficient in advanced Excel and financial modeling skills, including driver-based models.

• Possess commercial curiosity and the confidence to engage directly with business leaders.

• Excellent communication and financial storytelling abilities tailored for non-financial audiences.

• Proven track record of end-to-end ownership and independence.

• Experience working with multiple stakeholders in a matrix or global organization.

• Practical experience with AI tools to enhance finance operations.

• Background in education, publishing, subscription services, platforms, or SaaS is advantageous but not mandatory.

• Candidates must be located in the United States; preference for those in the East Coast time zone, though other US locations may be considered.
