Lead Software Engineer – Railroad

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and create cloud-native, distributed applications utilizing Java and Spring Boot.

• Develop and sustain microservices and event-driven architectures leveraging Kafka.

• Implement and oversee applications within Kubernetes environments.

• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to provide automation and dispatch-centric platform capabilities.

• Engage in full-stack development projects employing technologies such as Angular.

• Enhance quality engineering through test automation, code assessments, and continuous integration practices.

• Develop robust and efficient software solutions that promote operational excellence and deliver business value.

⛳️ Requirements

• Significant experience in Java and Spring Boot development.

• Strong proficiency in designing and executing distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architectures.

• Practical experience with Apache Kafka.

• Expertise in developing and deploying cloud-native applications utilizing Kubernetes, containerization, and contemporary DevOps methodologies.

• Comprehensive understanding of RESTful APIs, system integration patterns, and performance enhancement.

• Experience in full-stack development, including Angular.

• Familiarity with test automation, CI/CD pipelines, coding quality standards, and agile software development practices.

• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

• Previous experience in the rail industry is beneficial but not essential compared to expertise in platform engineering, dispatch automation, and the development of distributed software systems.
