This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take full ownership of the orchestration pod's delivery process, encompassing planning, execution, quality assurance, and punctual shipping.
• Design and create robust, long-term Temporal workflows using Node.js/TypeScript that model member action lifecycles, state transitions, scheduling, activation, and delivery results.
• Manage the action delivery pipeline from decision publication to activation, acknowledgment of delivery, and state reconciliation.
• Design and implement Transactional Outbox patterns, atomic persist-and-publish workflows, idempotency controls, retry/backoff mechanisms, dead-letter queue management, and processing of delivery receipts.
• Oversee components that activate decisions for the Adobe Experience Platform and publish using Kafka patterns to downstream channels.
• Define delivery contracts, guarantees for activation, and patterns for receipt ingestion.
• Develop Temporal workflows and activities, Node.js services, Kafka producers and consumers, outbox processors, and integration services.
• Make architectural decisions regarding workflow design, state machines, retries, compensation, idempotency, topics, schema evolution, delivery guarantees, and APIs.
• Engineer distributed systems to ensure correctness through idempotent consumers, deduplication, durable state management, safe retries, and graceful failure handling.
• Set up monitoring, tracing, alerting, and operational visibility throughout the workflow, event publication, activation, and acknowledgment pipelines.
• Manage and mentor engineers and contractors, conduct code reviews, maintain engineering standards, and assist in removing obstacles for the team.
• Coordinate with decisioning, Action Library, activation systems, and platform teams; identify dependencies, integration risks, and operational challenges.

• Proven experience in designing and implementing Kafka producer and consumer patterns in production settings.
• Experience in creating reliable event delivery systems utilizing Transactional Outbox, event-driven integration patterns, or similar messaging architectures.
• Ability to lead a small team through the delivery process and take responsibility for technical results.
• Experience managing cloud-native systems on Azure or comparable cloud infrastructure, using Kubernetes, containers, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Clear communication skills for articulating architecture, delivery status, operational risks, and trade-offs to both technical and business stakeholders.
• Preferred: experience with Temporal in large-scale production environments, workflow versioning, long-running workflow management, and operational lifecycle management.
• Preferred: extensive experience with Transactional Outbox patterns, delivery acknowledgment workflows, dead-letter queue management, receipt reconciliation, and exactly-once processing semantics.
• Preferred: familiarity with integrating Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) or similar activation and engagement platforms.
• Preferred: knowledge of Kafka ecosystem tools, event schema governance, and large-scale event-driven architectures.
• Preferred: understanding of React/TypeScript, Java services, and Decision Intelligence systems.
• Preferred: experience with Helm, Terraform, and Kubernetes deployment patterns.
