Lead Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Oversee large, intricate, cross-team technical initiatives.

• Make informed technology and architectural decisions, articulate trade-offs, and resolve issues.

• Engage in both high- and low-level design, as well as code development.

• Act as a role model and source of inspiration for fellow engineers.

• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and engineers across various platforms and domains.

• Work together with principal and senior engineers on organization-wide decisions regarding platforms, processes, and technologies.

• Initiate and spearhead technical projects and process improvements to enhance codebase and system quality, minimize technical debt, and boost developer productivity.

• Guide engineers by sharing technical expertise, industry best practices, and leadership capabilities.

• Develop a deep understanding of product and business domains related to paying users and verticals to create innovative features.

• Direct the technical vision for the Core Marketplace, which includes supporting visibility products, marketing, merchandising, and operational tools for merchants and power sellers.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in software development.

• At least 2 years of experience in product development as a Lead Engineer or in a comparable technical leadership position.

• Proven experience as a technical lead across multiple engineering teams.

• A history of building scalable systems.

• Proficient in microservices and familiar with highly available web-scale systems.

• Strong foundation in computer science with practical experience in software development, architecture, and design.

• Extensive knowledge of distributed system concepts, challenges, and solution methodologies.

• Familiarity with modern technology stacks.

• Strong programming abilities in Go, Python, or Java.

• In-depth understanding of open-source and cloud-native software.

• Solid knowledge of storage technologies such as Postgres, Cassandra, Redis, and Elasticsearch.

• A passion for user experience and empathy.
