This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Support the design of solutions, integrations, as well as high-level and low-level architecture.
• Draft, review, and authorize software requirements, specifications, and project documentation.
• Create technical architecture documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Provide estimates for projects.
• Guide and mentor developers in the conceptualization and development of software applications and programs.
• Investigate new application development tools, languages, and standards.
• Suggest and apply software upgrades, tools, techniques, and process enhancements.
• Develop and conduct unit tests for software programs and applications in line with specifications.
• Evaluate software analysis data to rectify errors and pinpoint project enhancements.
• Produce statistics and reports regarding the programming process status.
• Diagnose issues across components and technologies.
• Offer production support when necessary.
• Act as a subject matter expert.
• Execute project-level planning and management tasks as required.
• 8–11 years of pertinent experience with advanced professional and technical skills.
• Proficient in Java/JEE coding and unit testing.
• Expert in JEE Web Services technologies, including JAXB and Java APIs for XML Messaging.
• Advanced experience in enterprise design, encompassing Object-Oriented Design, SOA, and Domain-Driven Design.
• Familiar with distributed and multithreaded systems utilizing relational databases.
• Knowledgeable in microservices and distributed service-oriented architectures.
• Experienced in designing and implementing REST APIs.
• Background in development with a modern front-end framework.
• Familiarity with test-driven development.
• Experience with Spring 5+, Hibernate 5+, and Sencha.
• Proficient in Java 11+, JavaScript, SQL, and PL/SQL.
• Experience with IBM MQ and ActiveMQ.
• Relational database experience with Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
• Knowledge of IntelliJ/Eclipse, Maven, and Git.
• Experience in performance testing, code debugging, monitoring, and JVM tuning.
• Familiarity with Hazelcast, Kafka, Docker, and BIRT Reporting.
• Understanding of design patterns and JEE.
• Knowledge of JEE web and enterprise application technologies, including Ajax, REST, JMS, Java Persistence, JDBC, and Java Dependency Injection.
• Understanding of database structures, DDL/DML, SQL, PL/SQL, and Oracle stored procedures and user-defined functions.
• Knowledge of Windows, Unix, or Linux operating systems.
• Familiarity with application servers like Oracle WebLogic, Apache HTTP Server, or Tomcat.
• Knowledge of Ajax, HTML, jQuery, XML, XSL, XSLT, CSS, JavaScript, Freemarker, JUnit, JSON, Jasper Reports, and shell scripting.
• Familiar with Eclipse, Maven, Ant, SVN, and Git.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead hands-on across multiple projects and assist in troubleshooting.
• High attention to detail and process; must be collaborative, adaptable, independent, self-motivated, analytical, and accountable.
• Bachelor’s or College Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or an equivalent relevant field.
• Previous experience in banking and capital markets infrastructure is a significant advantage.
