This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany, +7 more countries.
• Develop and implement AI-driven features for CLion and C++ development processes.
• Architect solutions for AI integrations, agent tools, and C++-focused AI functionalities.
• Create benchmarks and evaluation frameworks to support AI-enhanced C++ development.
• Prototype and assess AI workflows that involve debugging, code comprehension, refactoring, and project navigation.
• Collaborate with product managers, ML engineers, QA engineers, stakeholders, and senior developers on the project roadmap.
• Partner with JetBrains AI, ML, and product teams to establish the AI strategy for the C++ ecosystem.
• Assess and prioritize AI initiatives, proposing ideas that align with JetBrains' AI strategy.
• Actively contribute to technical design, software architecture, and implementation within a large codebase.
• Outline a technical roadmap for AI agent and tool integrations in C++ workflows.
• Foster trust and alignment across the C++ Ecosystem, AI, Product, QA, and ML organizations.
• Develop AI-centric workflows for debugging, code comprehension, developer workflow automation, and evaluating AI tools.
• Extensive software engineering experience in roles such as Staff Engineer, Principal Engineer, Technical Lead, or a similar senior technical position.
• Proficient in Kotlin, Java, or other JVM technologies, or capable of quickly becoming productive in a JVM-centric codebase.
• Experience in creating AI-enabled products, developer tools, coding assistants, agents, or workflows based on LLM.
• Deep understanding of contemporary coding agents, including tool invocation, context management, MCP, and evaluation methodologies.
• Proven ability to steer technical direction in unclear and fast-changing domains.
• Strong product instincts with the capacity to balance innovation and practical execution.
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence others without formal authority.
