Lead Props/Environment 3D Artist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Lead, guide, and motivate a team of Prop Artists

• Provide ongoing feedback and conduct performance evaluations

• Ensure that assets adhere to the artistic and technical standards set by AAA partners

• Maintain a Gold Standard level of output

• Develop and enhance PBR modeling and texturing processes

• Oversee task allocation within the team

• Ensure that deadlines are achieved across ongoing projects

• Collaborate closely with Art Directors, Technical Artists, and Project Managers

• Identify potential risks and address production bottlenecks

• Create and update technical briefs, style guides, and best-practice documentation for the props department

• Lead the props/environment art team and establish a high standard of quality

• Capture the essence of the original game universe with contemporary AAA graphics

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in game art

• At least 2 years in a Lead or Supervisory capacity

• Strong portfolio showcasing expert-level hard-surface and organic props

• Portfolio examples reflecting various art styles

• Proficient in Maya, 3ds Max, or Blender

• Advanced knowledge of ZBrush

• In-depth expertise with the Substance Suite, including Painter and Designer

• Comprehensive understanding of Unreal Engine UE4/UE5 or proprietary AAA engines

• Complete mastery of PBR workflows

• Proficiency in UV optimization, baking, and LOD management

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

• Ability to provide clear artistic feedback

• Proven capability to adapt to different art styles and technical requirements while maintaining quality
