Lead Packaging Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver technical leadership and assist in the design and integration of packaging systems for industrial clients, focusing primarily on the food and beverage sector.

• Aid engineers in the design and integration of packaging systems tailored for industrial applications.

• Execute field information-gathering tasks.

• Develop and revise 2D and 3D CAD layouts for the integration of packaging systems and equipment.

• Design components of packaging systems in accordance with equipment specifications and project demands.

• Create and maintain engineering drawing packages along with necessary documentation.

• Oversee drawing management and work closely with clients.

• Collaborate with designers and engineers from various disciplines.

• Coordinate, assign, and supervise design efforts of team members and external resources as required.

• Provide mentorship and technical support within the packaging systems domain.

• Assist with equipment installations, startup operations, and field troubleshooting.

• Support engineers with specifications, installation scopes of work, and technical determinations.

• Manage multiple projects while ensuring effective communication, organization, and meticulous attention to detail.

• Travel to client locations approximately 10–20% of the time annually.

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate's degree in Mechanical Design or a comparable blend of education and experience.

• At least 7 years of experience in CAD design.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Experience in designing conveyor layouts.

• Expertise in using 2D and 3D CAD software for equipment integration and system design.

• Understanding of manufacturing processes, fabrication techniques, materials, and equipment capabilities.
