Lead OpenShift Architect – Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Spearhead the discovery phase and develop the target architecture, migration strategy, and validation criteria.

• Design and implement bare-metal OpenShift clusters.

• Deploy OpenShift Virtualization and facilitate the migration of VMs from VMware.

• Establish day-2 operations, which include upgrades, monitoring, backup, and restoration processes.

• Collaborate with storage and network engineers for seamless integration.

• Provide a proof of concept prior to the production migration phases.

• Create runbooks, cutover, and rollback plans, and transition them to the client team.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience with OpenShift 4.x in production settings, including self-hosted bare-metal deployments.

• Successfully completed at least one migration from VMware to OpenShift Virtualization.

• Strong foundational knowledge of Kubernetes, including networking, RBAC, security, and operators.

• Experience with enterprise block storage on OpenShift.

• Background in phased migrations within live production environments.

• Red Hat OpenShift certification or demonstrable project references.

• Proficiency in English.

• Preferred: Experience with multi-cluster management (ACM).

• Preferred: Familiarity with F5, IBM storage, or Cisco networking.

• Preferred: Experience migrating from legacy Kubernetes or OpenShift 3.
