Lead Microservices and AI Technical Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Provide technical leadership and serve as the architectural authority for the design, governance, and advancement of cloud-native, microservices-based, and AI-enabled platforms.

• Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, security protocols, and business transformation goals.

• Lead modern engineering practices and AI delivery methodologies, including AI-enabled SDLC, DevSecOps, CI/CD, observability, automated testing, and platform engineering standards.

• Drive technology modernization and platform adoption, focusing on microservices enhancement, containerization, enterprise systems integration, and reusable patterns.

• Enhance scalability, maintainability, and operational resilience.

• Develop organizational capability and technical maturity through knowledge transfer and engineering governance.

• Lead multidisciplinary teams while promoting engineering excellence and continuous improvement.

• Influence system builds and engineering decisions.

• Guide the integration of AI throughout the software delivery lifecycle.

• Ensure capability transfer throughout the delivery process.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must possess Baseline security clearance.

• Extensive experience in designing, implementing, and governing cloud-native, microservices, and event-driven architectures within complex enterprise environments.

• Proven expertise in AI engineering and the delivery of AI-enabled solutions, including enterprise AI capabilities, semantic search, machine learning solutions, and responsible AI practices.

• Strong capabilities in software engineering and platform engineering.

• Experience with modern development frameworks, DevSecOps, CI/CD, automated testing, observability, security by design, and operational excellence.

• Demonstrated ability to lead enterprise technology modernization and transformation initiatives.

• Exceptional skills in stakeholder engagement, communication, and leadership.

• Proven experience in leading multidisciplinary teams, delivery partners, and senior executives.

• Desirable: Familiarity with container platforms such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, AKS, EKS, or GKE.

• Desirable: Experience in cloud platform modernization, SRE, platform engineering, observability tooling, and enterprise-scale automation.

• Desirable: Experience in leading delivery within Agile environments and coaching geographically dispersed teams.

• An updated CV of a maximum of 3–5 pages.

• A one-page pitch of no more than 5000 characters addressing all specified criteria.
