Lead Microservices, AI Technical Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Provide technical leadership and serve as the architectural authority for the design, governance, and advancement of cloud-native, microservices-based, and AI-enabled platforms.

• Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, security protocols, and business transformation goals.

• Lead modern engineering practices and AI delivery methods, including AI-enabled Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), DevSecOps, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), observability, automated testing, and platform engineering standards.

• Drive the modernization of technology and promote platform adoption, focusing on enhancements in microservices, containerization, and integration of enterprise systems.

• Implement reusable patterns that enhance scalability, maintainability, and operational resilience.

• Build organizational capabilities and technical maturity through knowledge transfer and engineering governance.

• Lead multidisciplinary teams while promoting engineering excellence and continuous improvement.

• Influence system builds and engineering decision-making processes.

• Guide the integration of AI throughout the service delivery lifecycle.

• Ensure capability transfer during the delivery process.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must possess Baseline security clearance.

• Extensive experience in designing, implementing, and governing cloud-native, microservices, and event-driven architectures within complex enterprise settings.

• Proven expertise in AI engineering and the delivery of AI-enabled solutions, including enterprise AI capabilities, semantic search, machine learning solutions, and responsible AI practices.

• Strong capabilities in software engineering and platform engineering, including proficiency with modern development frameworks, DevSecOps, CI/CD, automated testing, observability, security by design, and operational excellence.

• Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives focused on technology modernization and transformation within enterprises.

• Exceptional skills in stakeholder engagement, communication, and leadership.

• Experienced in leading multidisciplinary teams, delivery partners, and senior executives.

• Familiarity with designing, implementing, and operating container platforms such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, AKS, EKS, or GKE.

• Experience with platform automation, governance, and workload management.

• Knowledge of cloud platform modernization, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), platform engineering, observability tools, and enterprise-scale automation.

• Proven experience leading delivery efforts in Agile environments, including coaching teams spread across various locations.
