Lead Mechanical Integration Engineer – Pipes, Frames and Structures

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Deliver design and engineering drawing services that support manufacturing processes for metal frames, panels, enclosures, mounting solutions, and specialized metal items.

• Ensure that shop drawings adhere to relevant codes, industry standards, and regulations.

• Evaluate customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data for feasibility and cost considerations.

• Research, design, validate, and analyze machined parts, castings, welded fabrications, and structural/mechanical components.

• Identify and address project risks that may impact plans and schedules.

• Select components, route wires and cables, and create system layouts.

• Assist in guiding the mechanical systems strategy for Data Center Infrastructure, Energy Storage Systems, and HVAC.

• Assess mechanical system operations and suggest modifications as necessary.

• Develop CAD models and design data packages; conduct finite element analysis for stress and structural dynamics using ProE CREO, SolidWorks, or alternative CAD software.

• Review and verify CAD/technical data packages and mechanical design requirements.

• Enhance manufacturing assembly processes through design, modification, and testing of methods and equipment.

• Generate detailed mechanical designs for components, sub-assemblies, and system integration.

• Create Bills of Materials for release to manufacturing.

• Conduct root-cause investigations into mechanical design and material issues.

• Oversee product delivery to ensure quality and adherence to schedules.

• Draft and contribute to test plans and specifications.

• Execute testing, debugging, and validation of mechanical systems.

• Manage relationships with mechanical component vendors and contract manufacturers.

• Stay updated on technologies and methodologies for competitive and cost-effective designs.

• Suggest R&D project ideas in collaboration with management.

• Evaluate engineering feasibility and cost-effectiveness alongside management and production teams.

• Mentor junior engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical system integration.

• Demonstrated success in system design and implementation within a relevant industry.

• Strong comprehension of mechanical systems, integration strategies, and system coordination.

• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations pertinent to Energy Storage Systems and Data Center Infrastructure is preferred.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a keen attention to detail.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Experience with WindChill and DevOps is advantageous.

• Alternatively, a suitable combination of education, experience, and/or training may be taken into account.

• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.

• Creative, self-motivated, accountable, and collaborative.

• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Proficient in reading, analyzing, and interpreting general business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
