This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
β’ Design, build, test, and maintain backend services and APIs that facilitate enterprise payment solutions.
β’ Engage in Agile ceremonies such as iteration planning, daily standups, and retrospectives.
β’ Work collaboratively with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to provide customer-oriented solutions.
β’ Contribute to the architecture, development, and operation of scalable microservices and distributed systems.
β’ Implement clean code principles, test-driven development, code reviews, and automated testing.
β’ Develop and sustain CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
β’ Monitor, troubleshoot, and support applications operating in production environments.
β’ Contribute to coding standards, security protocols, and engineering best practices.
β’ Assist in designing, building, and delivering operational claims systems for Allstate Dealer Services.
β’ Help define the technical trajectory of a platform that modernizes claims operations.
β’ A minimum of 4 years of software development experience with Java and J2EE technologies, including Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring IoC, Spring Security, Spring AOP, and related Spring frameworks.
β’ Proven experience in designing and constructing RESTful APIs, including API documentation (Swagger/OpenAPI), versioning, service discovery, testing, and microservice architectures.
β’ A solid understanding of object-oriented design principles, software design patterns, and contemporary software development methodologies.
β’ Experience with relational databases, including schema design, indexing strategies, query optimization, and SQL development.
β’ Familiarity with automated testing and Test Driven Development (TDD) utilizing frameworks such as JUnit, Selenium, JBehave, or similar tools.
β’ Proficient in CI/CD and DevOps practices using tools like GitHub, Jenkins, SonarQube, Gradle, Maven, or equivalent technologies.
β’ Experience in deploying and managing containerized applications through Kubernetes, Docker, or similar platforms.
β’ Background in developing and supporting production services with observability and monitoring tools like Datadog or equivalent.
β’ Experience in Agile, Scrum, or XP methodologies.
β’ Knowledge of application security and quality tools such as SonarQube, Fortify, Contrast, or similar products.
β’ Experience in building and operating high-volume, distributed systems with an emphasis on reliability, performance, and scalability.
β’ Familiarity with messaging and event-driven architectures using Kafka or similar technologies.
β’ Working knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, PCF, Azure, or similar cloud environments.
β’ Exposure to modern front-end technologies such as JavaScript, React, or Angular.
β’ Strong skills in problem-solving, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration.
β’ Successful completion of a background investigation is required.
