Lead Instructor, Data Analytics – Somali Speaking

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Prepare and facilitate live virtual lectures and practical demonstrations utilizing the Correlation One curriculum.

• Instruct the Data Analytics core curriculum to a group of learners.

• Clearly convey technical information in both English and Somali.

• Assist learners in working with real datasets using Excel, SQL, Python, and Tableau or Power BI.

• Oversee class-time Q&A, manage chat interactions, and ensure learner engagement.

• Offer practical examples of remote analytics work.

• Collaborate with Correlation One operations personnel and Teaching Assistants.

• Participate in pre-lecture meetings and a brief weekly check-in.

• Aid in the development of learner portfolio projects.

• Contribute to the design and enhancement of lessons.

• Submit lecture plans for evaluation at least 10 days prior to the lecture.

• Tailor pace and presentation for learners with varying levels of experience.

• Utilize learner survey feedback and provide suggestions for course improvement to Correlation One.

⛳️ Requirements

• Professional working proficiency in both Somali and English, in both spoken and written forms, with the capability to teach technical subjects in both languages.

• Over 5 years of professional experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a similar field.

• A degree in a Data Analytics-related discipline or equivalent industry experience.

• Strong expertise in Excel, including formulas, lookups, pivot tables, data cleaning, and charts.

• Proficient in SQL, encompassing querying, filtering, joins, and aggregations.

• Proficient in Python, focusing on data analysis with pandas and fundamental visualization techniques.

• Skilled in Tableau or Power BI for data visualization and dashboard creation.

• Knowledgeable in descriptive statistics and data storytelling.

• Experience in teaching or training adult learners, preferably in a remote environment and with beginners.

• Ability to simplify complex topics for better understanding.

• Comfortable using Zoom, Pumble or Slack, and online learning platforms.
